About
This Festival was founded in 2011

Film night at the castle is multicultural open air galery of short films, unique in Europe and Slovak area. Thanks to its` unique placement at Saris castle open air grounds, festival attracts` film lovers since 2011.

Since then around 500 short films has been screened at Saris Castle hill. In 2020 we would like to increase this number, using not only one screening place as it was usual during previous years, but 3 screening places during two film nights. Festival will be accompanied with series of workshops about audio-visual and film, and other activities focused on families (theatre for kids, painting activities,) and music performances for all. During this year we would like to offer two, new competition sections. Award for
- The best protagonist at the documentary film (selected by expert jury), and Anti Award -

Worst short film of the festival (audience award). We also want to create new ‘Chill out zone’ for visitors who want to enjoy nature around The Castle Saris. For Family visitors we would like to offer full-fledged program as usual. Visitors will also appreciate unique opportunity for camping which is not allowed during regular year. This opportunity is one of many benefits visitors enjoy during our festival. Film night starts with one feature film and a whole night of short films after from various productions and countries.

Regulations to registration film festival
Film night at the castle - FNNH 2022
(15.7. - 17.7.2022, Šariš castle, Slovakia)

Part I.: Basic rules

Film night at the castle - FNNH 2022 is the 10th year of film festival, which takes place at the Šariš castle, situated in the east of Slovakia.
It's the first and the only one film festival in Slovakia, which takes place at the castle hill and present short films of different genres.

Only films, which fulfil following requirements can be logged-in and screened.

- maximum length 35 minutes

- dialogues have to be spoken in slovak or czech language, if not, english subtitles are required

- The film quality should be SD or HD

- The festival admits films of every age and it doesn't matter, if had been already screened

- Films can be any genre – documentary, feature film, animated, experimental...

- Films with the topic of The best protagonist in documentary movie are prefered

- Organizers reserve the right to refuse movies with racist or otherwise offensive content

Part II.: Deadline and pre-selection
The films can be subscribed until 31th of May 2022 by the online registration form, available on the on the website www.novyfilm.sk, www.filmovanocnahrade.sk. The film in a preview quality is necessary to insert at the end of the registration form. Authors of selected movies will be asked to send the full quality film online or at the DVD or Blu-ray disc.

Festival will inform about the selection of the films by email, until 20th of June 2022.

Part III.: Selected films and necessarius materials
The applicants of the selected films are required to provide:

- synopsis – short characterization of the film (1200 symbols, including spaces)
- film stills (at most 5 pcs)
- short info about director
- dialogue list in english language

All the materials are delivered only in digital form, by email. The applicant can send also optional materials, for example promotional materials about the film (posters, invitations, bulletin, etc...)


Part IV.: Presentation of the festival films
Festival reserves the right to use extracts from various films for promotional purposes of the festival (maximal length 3 minutes). Festival reserves the right to use stills of the films to use them in the promotional materials (catalog, bulletin, promotional leaflets, posters, billboards, web pages, multimedial presentations etc.

Part V.: Final summary
By submitting the application, the applicant agrees with the above rules to login to the film festival Film night at the castle - FNNH 2022. One applicant is allowed to apply even more films. Each film must have completed its own application form.
