Seoul International Food Film Festival (SIFFF) is an event to present outstanding and thought-provoking films about food and related issues every year since 2015.
While celebrating diversity of food and lifestyle from different cultures, SIFFF also aims to provide time for relaxing and healing to rediscover the taste of life, not to mention, to raise public awareness on healthy eating and sustainability.
SIFFF’s program includes an inspiring selection of documentaries, feature and short films related to food, from the newest buzzed-about ones to classics and cults.
With film screenings, a variety of events such as catered parties, cooking and tasting events, talk shows with film and culinary professionals will be held to provide delightful, multi-sensory film experience.
2015년 첫 발을 내디딘 서울국제음식영화제는 영화와 음식을 매개로 세계 곳곳의 다양한 삶의 모습과 문화를 이해하고 서로 소통하고자 하는 축제입니다.

1. Goals
Seoul International Food Film Festival (SIFFF) is an event to present outstanding and thought-provoking films about food and related issues every year since 2015. While celebrating diversity of food and lifestyle from different cultures, SIFFF also aims to provide time for relaxing and healing to rediscover the taste of life, not to mention, to raise public awareness on healthy eating and sustainable food system.
2. Period
Seoul International Food Film Festival will hold its ninth edition from October 12 to October 20, 2023.
3. Programs & Sections
SIFFF’s program consists of two competitive sections for short films and several non-competitive sections. Submitted films will be considered for both the competitive and non-competitive sections.
3-1. Tasty Short Film Competition (International/Korean)
- Films completed after January 1, 2021, not submitted to SIFFF previously
- Films about food and related issues regardless of genre
- Films shorter than 40 minutes only
- Films longer than 40 minutes will be considered for non-competitive sections screening.

4. Entry
All entries must be submitted online via Festhome with a full-length screener link or file. The submission deadline is July 12, 2023(arrival).
5. Selection Process
All submitted films will be viewed by SIFFF preliminary selection committee. Finalists of the competitions will be announced at the festival website by the end of August, 2023 and the entrants of the selected films will be individually notified. Once confirmed for screening at the film festival, entries must not be withdrawn for any reason.
6. Materials
Any materials submitted for selection will not be returned. All the costs of transportation and insurance must be fully paid by the entrant. Please note that for materials shipped from overseas, the declared value should be equivalent to the materials only (less than USD 10).
7. Shipping
For the selected films, additional materials and/or a high definition digital screening copy may be requested by SIFFF, and these materials are to be submitted to SIFFF by the stated deadline in the request. Detailed shipping instructions will be sent to the print suppliers specified in the entry form.
7-1. In case of the competition finalists, the one-way trip transport and insurance costs for the film must be prepaid by its sender. SIFFF will pay for the return cost only. Shipments to other festivals are the exception, in which case the standard practice of cost sharing will be applied.
7-2. For films selected for the non-competitive sections at SIFFF, the round trip transport costs will be remunerated by SIFFF only when the shipment has been made through the official courier service designated by the festival and the return is to the origin of the print. Shipments to and/or from other festivals are the exception, in which case the standard practice of cost sharing will be applied.
8. Language
Selected films will be screened in their original version with Korean subtitles. English subtitles or transcripts must be provided by the representatives of the selected films.
9. Screening Copy
In order to add subtitles and to ensure stability for screening, the format of the final screening copy may be changed.
10. Publicity
SIFFF is qualified to use the promotional materials of all selected films submitted by the entrants and reserves the right to use excerpts from the film, with a maximum of 3 minutes (or up to 10% of the film running time), for promotional purposes.
11. Festival Archive
11-1. The materials of all selected films including the provided screener and screening copies will be kept in SIFFF archive only for non-profit use, including educational and research purposes.
11-2. SIFFF will be responsible for the damages caused by its carelessness in supervising the materials.
12. Additional Screenings
All finalists of the competition can be included in the Best of SIFFF tour screenings, with prior agreement of the representatives or copyright holders of the films.
13. Copyright
Entrants or the representatives of the submitted films are responsible for all copyright clearances for the materials included within the submitted films. SIFFF will not be held responsible for any disputes or damages related to the copyright infringement of the submitted films.
14. Force Majeure
In the event of a natural disaster or social crisis, changes may occur, and SIFFF undertakes to inform the entrants or the representatives of the films relevant to the changes.
15. Agreement
These regulations are considered valid upon submission of the entry form to SIFFF. SIFFF reserves the right to make an independent decision on any matter not enumerated in the above regulations.

3. 개최 일자
제9회 서울국제음식영화제는 2023년 10월 12일부터 10월 20일까지 9일간 서울특별시에서 개최된다.
4. 영화제 프로그램
서울국제음식영화제의 프로그램은 공모를 통한 경쟁 부문인 오감만족 단편경선 외에 다양한 비경쟁 부문으로 구성된다.
4-1. 경쟁 부문 - 오감만족 단편경선
음식을 소재로 하는 여러 문화권의 다채롭고 맛있는 상상력을 만날 수 있는 단편영화들이 각축을 벌이는 경쟁부문으로, 전 세계 단편영화 감독들을 대상으로 한 ‘오감만족 국제단편경선’과 국내 단편영화 감독들을 대상으로 한 ‘오감만족 한국단편경선’으로 구성된다.

5. 출품 안내
5-1. 출품 조건
- 2021년 1월 1일 이후 제작 완료된 작품으로 이전 서울국제음식영화제에 출품된 바 없는 작품
- 장르에 상관없이 음식 또는 관련 소재를 다루거나 넓은 의미에서 음식문화와 관련된 작품
- 위 조건을 충족하는 상영시간 40분 미만의 단편영화
- 상영시간 40분 이상의 영화는 심사를 거친 뒤 비경쟁 부문을 통해 상영될 수 있음
5-2. 출품 방법
- 출품 마감: 2023년 7월 12일 (수)
- 출품은 온라인으로만 가능하며, 아래 두 방법 중 하나를 선택하여 출품해야 한다.
1) 서울국제음식영화제 홈페이지에서 출품 링크로 접속, 출품 양식 작성 및 스크리너 링크 제출

2) 온라인 출품 웹사이트에서 온라인 출품 등록 및 스크리너 파일 또는 링크 업로드
6. 작품 선정
작품 선정 결과는 2023년 8월 말까지 영화제 홈페이지에 공지되며, 선정작에 한하여 출품인에게 개별 통보된다. 영화제 상영이 결정된 이후에는 어떠한 이유로도 작품 상영을 취소할 수 없다.
7. 출품 운송
출품된 모든 자료는 반환되지 않으며 출품 운송에 관련된 비용 및 책임은 출품인에게 있다. 국외에서 운송 시 USD 10 이하로 가격을 명시할 것을 권한다.
8. 상영본 제출 및 반환
상영이 확정된 작품은 홍보를 위해 영화제 사무국이 요청하는 추가 자료와 고화질의 디지털 상영본을 사무국에서 요청하는 기한 내에 제공해야 한다.
8-1. 경쟁 부문에 상영이 확정된 작품의 운송 비용은 출품인이 부담한다. 영화제는 작품의 반환 비용을 책임지며, 타 영화제로 운송되는 경우는 영화제 간의 일반적인 규정에 따른다.
8-2. 비경쟁 초청 부문에 상영이 확정된 작품은 출품인이 영화제 공식 운송 업체를 이용하는 경우 발생하는 왕복 운송 비용을 영화제가 부담한다. 타 영화제에서/로 운송되는 경우는 영화제 간의 일반적인 규정에 따른다.
9. 상영 언어 및 상영본 관리
선정된 작품은 원어로 상영되며, 한국어 대사가 아닌 작품의 경우 한글 자막 상영을 원칙으로 한다. 영어 대사가 아닌 외국 작품과 한국 작품의 경우, 출품인이 영문 자막이 있는 상영본 또는 영문 대본을 제공해야 한다. 최종 상영본은 자막 작업 또는 원활한 상영을 위해 상영 포맷이 변경될 수 있다.
10. 홍보물 제작 관련 자료 사용
영화제는 홍보를 위해 출품인이 제공한 홍보용 영상(트레일러)을 그대로 이용할 수 있으며, 상영작 전체의 10%, 최대 3분 이내 분량을 임의로 제작하여 사용할 수 있다.
11. 아카이브를 위한 자료 관리
11-1. 서울국제음식영화제는 상영작 자료 및 상영본을 아카이브에 보관하며 이를 상업적 목적을 제외한 홍보 및 연구, 교육적 목적을 위해 활용할 수 있다.
11-2. 영화제 측의 부주의한 관리로 인해 자료 유출 피해가 발생할 경우, 영화제가 이에 대한 책임을 진다.
12. 영화제 이후 상영
수상작을 포함한 상영작은 출품인 또는 저작권자의 동의 하에 서울국제음식영화제가 주최 또는 후원하는 상영회에서 재상영될 수 있다.
13. 저작권
출품작에 사용된 음악이나 영상 등의 저작권은 출품인이 직접 해결해야 한다. 영화제는 출품작에 사용된 음악 및 영상 등의 저작권을 별도로 확인하지 않으며, 저작권과 관련하여 문제 발생 시 출품인이 전적으로 책임을 진다. 수상 이후라도 출품작의 표절, 모방, 저작권 침해, 선거법 위반 판명 시 수상이 취소되며 상금은 회수함을 원칙으로 한다.
14. 불가항력
천재지변 및 사회적 위기 상황이 발생하는 경우 변경 사항이 발생할 수 있으며, 관련 내용은 영화제가 출품인에게 사전 공지 또는 상호 협의하여 진행할 수 있다.
15. 효력
위의 규정은 출품 신청서를 제출함과 동시에 출품규정에 동의한 것으로 간주하며 효력을 갖는다. 서울국제음식영화제는 위의 규정에 없는 사안에 대하여 결정할 권리를 갖는다.

Tasty Short Film Competition is the international arena of competition for various short films from different countries conveying colorful imaginations on food. Selected finalists will be screened at the festival to run for the awards. These ‘food films’ from all around the globe show infinite possibilities and witty imaginations, not limited to a certain genre or a format. They also prove that endlessly various stories and expressions are possible by the medium of food. The winners will be announced and awarded at the closing ceremony.
