Rough Shorts is a category of the Bogotá Audiovisual Market (BAM) that offers an editing lab for short films. In the 2025 edition, BAM reaffirms its commitment to short films and to Colombian producers and directors, inviting them to participate in this lab focused on reviewing narrative construction through editing. Additionally, the selected participants will be part of a market agenda designed to explore distribution routes for short films and strengthen networking opportunities for future projects.

PITCH LAB – DOC.LAB Coimbra 2026 is a development and pitching lab for feature-length documentaries, taking place in Coimbra, Portugal, from March 16 to 20, 2026. It targets projects in the development stage that already have a teaser, offering filmmakers the opportunity to present their ideas to industry professionals and receive specialized feedback.
The call is open to international submissions, allowing filmmakers from any country to participate. Projects must be documentaries, with the main focus on pitching, while participants also work on structuring and strengthening their projects during the lab.
The application deadline is January 23, 2026. Interested applicants are required to submit their project dossier and teaser according to the program’s specifications. This lab provides an ideal platform for filmmakers seeking support, visibility, and professional connections for their feature-length documentary projects in development.

PITCH LAB – DOC.LAB Coimbra
The Ópera Prima LAB 2026 call from the Cartagena International Film Festival is open to filmmakers from Ibero-America, South America, and the Caribbean, accepting international submissions. The lab is designed to support first feature film or first series projects in the development stage, providing mentorship, workshops, and a final pitch to industry professionals.
Projects of any genre are accepted, including fiction, documentary, animation, or hybrid formats. Applicants must submit a complete script or written pilot, along with development materials such as synopsis and creative dossier. The program focuses on script and creative development, not on completed projects.
Submissions are open from November 26, 2025, to January 18, 2026. The lab will take place virtually from March to April 2026, with in-person sessions from April 14 to 19, 2026, during the festival in Cartagena, Colombia.
