The ALGA Ibero-American Residency 2026 is an in-person training opportunity for filmmakers and audiovisual professionals with feature film and series projects in development. Applications are open until January 31, 2026 and the program is open to international applicants from Ibero-America, Spain, and Portugal, with no genre or theme restrictions. It accepts fiction, documentary, animation, and experimental projects in development. The residency takes place in Valdivia, Chile, in four-week sessions divided into Group 1 (April 27 – May 22, 2026), Group 2 (June 1 – 26, 2026), and Group 3 (July 6 – 31, 2026). Participants receive creative and industry support, training activities, and dedicated time to develop their projects. This program aims to strengthen and support emerging audiovisual works during early stages of creation.

The Venice Production Bridge 2025 will take place from August 28 to September 3 during the 82nd Venice International Film Festival. This platform is designed to boost the financing and co-production of audiovisual projects in advanced development stages. It brings together global industry professionals through initiatives such as the Venice Gap-Financing Market, which showcases fiction feature films, creative documentaries, and immersive projects that have at least 70% of their funding secured.

Other key sections include Final Cut in Venice, supporting post-production films from Africa and the Arab world; the Book Adaptation Rights Market, connecting publishers and literary agents with producers; and the Venice Immersive Market, focused on XR, VR, and AR experiences. Additionally, the Meet the Streamers program facilitates direct contact with streaming and VOD platforms. In 2025, the spotlight will be on the United Kingdom, Chile, and Morocco, with curated events promoting their film industries.

The Huesca International Film Festival Pitching is a platform designed to support emerging filmmakers in developing their short film projects. It welcomes various genres, including fiction, documentary, animation, experimental films, and music videos, aiming to connect creators with producers interested in fostering new talent.

Selected projects present their ideas in a live ten-minute pitching session, followed by a Q&A. Participation can be in-person or online, and invited filmmakers receive a diploma, as well as one night of lodging and a meal if attending in person.

The call is open to projects in development or text form, regardless of the filmmaker’s nationality. Required materials include a synopsis, team CV, and the script or treatment. The submission deadline for the 2026 edition was March 19, 2026, and the pitching session will take place on June 11, 2026, in Huesca, Spain. This event is a key opportunity for young filmmakers seeking visibility and professional support within the short film industry.

IndieLisboa Lab is a film project development workshop aimed at Portuguese filmmakers or foreign residents with permanent residency in Portugal. Its goal is to provide mentorship and training focused on narrative development, creative vision, and preparing projects for both the national and international markets.

The 2026 edition application deadline is January 16, 2026. The lab activities will take place in two phases: the first from March 27 to 29, 2026, and the second from May 3 to 6, 2026.

Projects of any genre are accepted, including fiction, documentary, animation, and experimental. The lab targets projects in development, whether short or feature films, providing mentorship, feedback, and professional guidance.

Although some foreign participants may apply if they meet the residency requirement in Portugal, the call is not open internationally to all countries. It is primarily a national initiative aimed at strengthening the Portuguese film industry.
