he ABCGuionistas Short Screenplay International Contest opens its eighth edition with the collaboration of Altamedia Studios, Instituto del Cine Madrid (Madrid Film Institute), in addition to the brands Marca de Autor and Un Verano de Guion.
The contest has the purpose of promoting the creation of short screenplays in Spanish and the visibility of their authors. It is opened for novel and professional screenwriters of any country seeking to show their storytelling talent, winning exposure and getting rewarded for writing.

VIII International Competition Short Film Script Abcscriptwriters
The CASA CINE 2026 writing residency is aimed at screenwriters and filmmakers working on their first or second feature film. The program is open internationally, welcoming participants from all nationalities, and focuses on fiction, creative documentary, or animation projects.
Applications for screenwriters and writer-directors are open from November 3 to December 3, 2025, while film score composers can apply from January 15 to February 15, 2026. The residency will take place from May 6 to 29, 2026, at the Château de la Napoule in France, coinciding with the Cannes Film Festival.
Participants receive intensive mentorship in film writing and music composition, with opportunities to present their projects to industry professionals. FICMONTERREY - WIP
The Proyecciones en Sala 2025 call at Ventana Sur will take place in Buenos Aires, Argentina, from December 1 to 5, 2025. It is aimed at feature films ready for theatrical screening in the market, accepting works of any genre. Submissions are made through sales agents, not individually, and both Latin American and European films are eligible.
The application deadline is October 31, 2025, and digital or DCP materials must be submitted by November 7, 2025. Selection notifications will be sent to applicants by November 17, 2025.
This section of Ventana Sur focuses exclusively on in-theater screenings, not pitching or projects in progress, and does not accept short films or series. Its purpose is to provide filmmakers and sales agents with visibility in front of buyers and distributors within the international audiovisual market.

Theatrical Screenings – VENTANA SUR
VIÑA CONSTRUYE 2025 is a call from the Viña del Mar International Film Festival (FICVIÑA) aimed at fiction feature films in post-production. It targets projects from Latin America, Spain, and Portugal seeking partnerships to complete their post-production process. Projects must be between 80 and 120 minutes long and spoken in Spanish, Basque, Catalan, Galician, or Portuguese, with subtitles if applicable. The call was open from July 22 to August 22, 2025.
Applicants were required to complete an application form and submit a first cut of at least 80 minutes, along with an audiovisual synopsis of no more than 15 minutes. The viewing had to be done through an online platform. Selected projects were presented through a pitch to an official jury during the festival, held from November 24 to 29, 2025.
Awards were announced through the festival's official website and INDUSTRIA FICVIÑA's social media. Each award had a maximum one-year period to be used or for the delivery of the awarded service or benefit.
