The La Almunia Film Festival (FESCILA) 2026 opens its Short Film Script Contest, welcoming screenwriters from around the world. The call accepts original and unpublished scripts in Spanish, on any subject, including fiction, animation, and documentary. Submissions can compete in several categories: Open, Youth, Aragonese, Regional, Hispanic-American, and School. Each author may submit up to three scripts, with a maximum length of 20 pages per work.

Applications are open until January 25, 2026, and the 30th edition of the festival will take place from May 9 to 16, 2026, in La Almunia de Doña Godina, Spain. The Public Pitch at DocsBarcelona Pro is a professional opportunity for documentary film projects in development, including feature-length films and nonfiction series. Up to 12 selected projects present their ideas to an international panel of editors, distributors, sales agents, and co-producers. Each presentation includes a pitch of approximately 15 minutes, followed by questions and the possibility of speed meetings with potential financiers.
