The RAW 2025 call offers two residency modalities: Creative Residency for filmmakers and Critical Residency for critics and theorists of documentary cinema. Both are part of an integrated program that includes phases such as the ARCHÉ→WORK lab (Doclisboa), residencies in Lisbon, the Doc’s Kingdom seminar (Odemira), and the MÁRGENES/WORK lab (Madrid). The Creative Residency targets documentary feature projects in development, production, or post-production, providing workshops, mentorship, and spaces to advance audiovisual creation. The Critical Residency supports young critics developing research or writing projects on nonfiction cinema, offering tutoring, festival immersion, and specialized guidance. The call is unified for both modalities, with specific forms and requirements, taking place between October and November 2025 in various venues in Portugal and Spain. The program aims to strengthen Ibero-American documentary cinema through training, exchange, and creative support.

The Canary Islands, in Spain, due to their location and their history, are a natural bridge between Europe, Africa and America. For this reason, MiradasDOC Market has been, for years, a benchmark for documentary film professionals who look to the south and especially to these geographical areas.
At MiradasDoc Market you will find:
-Pitchings (General presentation of projects)
-One to one pitchings, an individual face to face between producers and buyers
-Video library (exclusive access for buyers and distributors)
-Catalog with projects in development and already completed.
-Conferences and workshops of the sector.

Emergente! Cine Lab 2025 is now open for its ninth edition, aimed at emerging Spanish-speaking filmmakers developing their first or second professional short film. Projects in fiction, documentary, animation, or experimental genres are welcome, provided they are still in the development stage and have international co-production potential.
Applications must be submitted through Festhome with a modest entry fee, adapted for both individual professionals and production companies in Spain and abroad. A full script is mandatory, along with a dossier of up to 15 pages including synopsis, creative statement, production and financing proposal, schedule, budget, and distribution plan. Optional materials such as teasers, stills, or a video pitch are also accepted.
The program takes place online in October, followed by an in-person forum on November 4th and 5th in Madrid. Between six and twelve projects will be selected, with at least 50% reserved for those led by women. Selected teams will receive professional mentoring, pitch their projects to potential co-producers and industry stakeholders, and compete for cash prizes and international development opportunities.
