The UNIFEST Film 2025 call for entries includes a “Best Short Film Script” category for writers from Mexico and the United States. Any genre or theme is accepted, as long as the script is original, unpublished, and intended for a short film. Submissions are open from January 31 to July 31, 2025 via FilmFreeway. The prize consists of two days of professional filming equipment rental (4K camera, lenses, lights, sound) and one free day in a studio, to support the winning project’s production. Results will be announced between August 28 and 31, 2025. You must attach the required documents (ID, synopsis, rights registration) and follow the festival’s social media. The Creative Production Workshop (TPC Panama 2025) is an intensive lab for film projects in early development. It focuses on strengthening the producer–director team working on a first or second feature (fiction, documentary, or hybrid).

The workshop will take place July 28 – August 3, 2025 in Panama. Filmmakers from 14 Central American and Caribbean countries are eligible. Applications close on July 3, 2025. 14 scholarships are available, covering tuition, accommodation, meals, and local transport (not international flights).

The program offers masterclasses, one‑on‑one mentorships, and networking, with international experts like Cristina Gallego and Diana Bustamante. It is ideal for those seeking to boost their project’s creative and production strategy.

Porto/Post/Doc – Industry Screenings is an open call for projects in post‑production with a connection to Portugal or Galicia. The private screenings will take place on 25–26 November 2025 in Porto, within the festival’s Industry section.

Eligible works include feature‑length or medium‑length films (creative documentaries, auteur fiction, animation or hybrids) that have not yet premiered worldwide. Selected projects are shown as works in progress to international sales agents, distributors, programmers and other key industry players.

The aim is to foster co‑production, pre‑sales, and finishing or distribution deals. Attendance is required with at least one accredited representative.
