The 2026 IBERMEDIA Program call for support in Ibero-American film co-productions is open from January 30 to March 30, 2026. It targets fiction, documentary, and animation projects involving co-production between at least two independent producers from member countries within Ibero-America.
No specific production dates are set, but selected projects must begin principal shooting or animation within the timeframe established after the call closes. The program accepts international submissions as long as they are from member countries, promoting regional collaboration and strengthening the Ibero-American audiovisual market.
This support line focuses exclusively on feature film co-productions, encouraging the creation of projects with potential for regional distribution and circulation. The program aims to boost established projects that can be realized with production certainty, fostering the Ibero-American film industry through cooperation between producers and industry professionals.

The Short Script Workshop in Berlin is opening its sixth call for applications, and we are excited to invite you to participate in this new edition.
Led by María Meira, an award-winning screenwriter with over twenty years of experience in international cinema, our program offers an inspiring audiovisual writing experience in Spanish, aimed at gathering and enhancing the richness of contemporary Spanish-speaking perspectives and voices in Berlin.
In collaboration with the Instituto Cervantes in Berlin, the Workshop provides a platform for creation and reflection, where participants will work intensively and personally on the development of script projects over six months. Additionally, the program includes a cultural exchange experience in the city of Berlin.
A maximum of 9 selected projects will be developed from their early stages to extract their full potential, with the goal of producing a high-quality script that could become a short film lasting between 10 and 20 minutes.

Selected projects present their ideas in a live ten-minute pitching session, followed by a Q&A. Participation can be in-person or online, and invited filmmakers receive a diploma, as well as one night of lodging and a meal if attending in person.
The call is open to projects in development or text form, regardless of the filmmaker’s nationality. Required materials include a synopsis, team CV, and the script or treatment. The submission deadline for the 2026 edition was March 19, 2026, and the pitching session will take place on June 11, 2026, in Huesca, Spain. This event is a key opportunity for young filmmakers seeking visibility and professional support within the short film industry.
