The Atlàntida Mallorca Talents Lab (AMTL) call is aimed at feature films in the development stage, providing support through mentorship, training, and networking opportunities. The 2026 edition will take place from July 28 to 30 in Mallorca, Spain.
Applications are open from December 15, 2025, to February 28, 2026. Projects of any genre or theme are accepted, including fiction, documentary, and animation. While the main focus has been on production companies with a presence in Spain, international projects may also apply, depending on individual evaluation.
The lab offers pitching sessions in front of industry professionals, group development workshops, and personalized meetings for guidance in production, distribution, and marketing. Its goal is to help projects secure financing and move toward full production. Ideatoon is a strategy to promote the creation and development of animated projects that can be marketed internationally.
The core of this strategy is an Ideas Contest for animated series and films, where the first prize in 2025 will be the production of a teaser or a short pilot of the winning project to be presented at partner markets and events.

Pixelatl - Ideatoon
Mecal Lab is a professional short film development program held annually in Barcelona, Spain, as part of the renowned Mecal Pro Festival. The lab selects five short fiction projects (under 30 minutes) and provides filmmakers with intensive training and mentoring through seven specialized workshops. These cover topics such as crowdfunding, script doctoring, marketing and distribution, sustainable filmmaking, public funding, AI in cinema, and pitching strategies. Each selected project receives personalized coaching and a €3,000 grant to support the film’s production.
The 2025 edition will take place from June 26 to July 6. Applicants must submit a biography of the director and producer, a motivation letter, a full project dossier, and the short film’s script. The application fee is €15, and the deadline is May 15, 2025.

MECAL LAB
This is an opportunity for filmmakers, producers, distributors, film schools, among others, to meet with programmers from the most important international film festivals. The goal of this meeting is to deepen the understanding of the specifics of each event and promote films within the international circuit. Meet the Festivals is part of the Curtas Pro section of the 33rd Curtas Vila do Conde IFF and is limited to 24 participants. IBERMEDIA NEXT is an initiative of the IBERMEDIA Program aimed at applying new technologies in the field of digital animation and audiovisual content with a high percentage of animation. To be eligible for this aid, co-development between Spanish, Portuguese or Italian production companies with Latin American individuals or legal entities from Member States of the IBERMEDIA Program will be necessary.
