INTRODUCTION
Valdivia International Film Festival showcases Chilean and international cinema in four competitive categories: Feature Competition, Youth Feature Competition, Latin American and Caribbean Short Film Competition, Latin American and Caribbean Children’s Short Film Competition and the new Chilean Short Film Competition for Film Students. Its non-competitive program includes historical retrospectives, contemporary filmmakers’ retrospectives, political cinema, avant-garde cinema, genre, and a children-family oriented cinema slot.
1.- OBJECTIVES
The festival aims to offer Chilean and foreign filmmakers a place to screen and to compete, and by doing so, promoting national and international film works of artistic quality.
2. DATES
The festival will be held from October 14th to 20th, 2024, in Valdivia, Chile.
Equinoxio Film Festival will hold its 26th edition from September 20th to 27th. It provides a space for gathering and reflection concerning student filmmaking while allowing interaction with the aesthetic perspective of emerging talents, along with artistic, social and personal concerns of young filmmakers.
The theme of this year's exhibition revolves around imprints. The films we make and watch today are a testimony of life that unfolds in a timeless echo; through the lens we replicate past traces and ask ourselves about the marks we leave for upcoming cinema. We seek for emerging films that explore these historical, political and cultural grooves, question their impact on audiovisual creation, and prompt discussions about the power of art in the collective and social construction of our imprints.
The Ensenada International Film Festival (FICE) invites you to participate in its sixth edition. It will take place in the City of Ensenada, Province of Buenos Aires on September, 2024 (the date of the festival can be modified within said month).
FICE's search will focus on cinematographic works that address a critical, poetic or aesthetic reflection around water. In this sense, water may appear as a central or tangential element in the development of narratives.
Because we are inhabited, stirred and agitated by this river that feeds us, from the FICE, we are looking for those works that, like water, can poetically penetrate all the reality that we are able to cover.
