Primer Festival Internacional de cine de Madrid dedicado a promover el cine sensible y el diálogo intercultural.
El cine aporta importantes elementos estéticos, narrativos y de disfrute pero también es un importante vehículo para llegar a los corazones y las mentes de todos, aportando historias y temas al mayor público posible. Las películas también pueden inspirar a la gente a participar y actuar.
EL FESTIVAL: MOVIMIENTO DE LA CULTURA
El Festival nace con una misión muy concreta:
pretende estimular la atención del público hacia un espacio representativo abierto y amplio, como es el entorno rural, hace de sus proyecciones al aire libre, abiertas para todos, el mejor exponente. Jóvenes y adultos, generaciones separadas por años y vivencias, se reúnen en torno a una pantalla, que es el foco de la luz de un pasado y de un futuro: la cultura es atemporal, la cultura une, y el lenguaje cinematográfico será el nexo común que temple emociones y sentimientos, que atesore recuerdos, que provoque animadas tertulias.
De esta manera todos los asistentes al evento pueden disfrutar de un discurso heterogéneo y dinámico. A través de este impulso cultural, las diferentes corrientes de creatividad permiten a los espectadores moverse y explorar códigos nuevos y viejos en un espacio público, creando comunidad.
Somos un festival que promueve enfáticamente el cine social independiente, ese cine que narra historias de personas, lugares, condiciones y situaciones comunes al grueso de la humanidad. Dicho de otra manera, historias de carne y hueso, sensibles y veraces.
Por otro lado, estamos convencidos que el cine es la herramienta de transformación social y cultural más importante del mundo; y que los festivales somos medios de comunicación alternativa y ventanas de exhibición, cuya función específica es la interacción dinámica con el público objetivo, en aras de alcanzar niveles de sensibilización profunda para con dichos espectadores.
Por consiguiente, queremos presentarnos ante ustedes señores cineastas, de manera formal y honesta, pretendiendo ser considerados un puente entre quienes ven, interpretan y plasman la realidad de forma distinta y los habitantes de nuestra región; una región ubicada en Colombia, que necesita urgentemente escuchar mensajes de esperanza social y cultural a través del arte, en procura de alcanzar paz interior y lograr cambios radicales para sus vidas.
El Festival Internacional de Cine de Monterrey, ficmonterrey, abre su convocatoria para la inscripción de largometrajes y cortometrajes para la selección de su vigésima edición que se llevará a cabo del 25 de septiembre al 2 de octubre de 2024.

*En caso de inscribir animaciones cuyo contenido coincida con lo documental, el Comité de Selección se reserva el derecho de seleccionarlo en la categoría más conveniente.
CATEGORÍA NUEVO LEÓN
Competencia de Nuevo León — Cualquier Género
La Categoría Nuevo León no se abre como una categoría aparte, pero la inscripción es indirecta a través de las categorías mexicanas —ver más en el Reglamento en nuestro sitio web.
Las fechas de inscripción van a partir de la publicación de la presente convocatoria, hasta el cierre de la misma, el día 7 de julio del 2024, a las 11:59 p.m. (GMT-6) sin ninguna posibilidad de prórroga. Se recibirán trabajos de largometraje (a partir de los 60 minutos en adelante) y cortometraje (entre 1 y menos de 30 minutos de duración) a través de la plataforma de Festhome exclusivamente.
A los participantes seleccionados se les comunicará vía correo electrónico durante la primera o segunda semana de agosto y se les hará saber la continuidad del proceso. La selección del Comité es inapelable. Al inscribirse, todos los participantes que sean seleccionados se comprometen a mandar todos los materiales requeridos en tiempo y forma, tal como se detalla en el Reglamento y como se les pedirá desde su notificación hasta la clausura del ficmonterrey. La inscripción de cualquier material a la presente convocatoria confirma la aceptación de la misma y de las reglas adjuntas. Por esto mismo, antes de iniciar el proceso, les pedimos LEER CON DETALLE el Reglamento de Inscripción.
El festival hará público el listado definitivo de las películas que conformarán su Selección Oficial competitiva a partir de Septiembre 2024 en la página web oficial del Festival: https://monterreyfilmfestival.com/
El ficmonterrey está una búsqueda constante de narrativas humanas que apuestan por miradas que se desprenden de un mundo en constante movimiento y transformación, en interconexión e innovación para su selección. El Festival busca películas con la potencia para poder residir en la memoria colectiva de las audiencias, con el poder de conmover y crear diálogo con las mismas. Uno de los intereses del equipo organizador del ficmonterrey es impulsar a las nuevas miradas, aquellas que son jóvenes no por su edad, sino por ser frescas, por mantenerse críticas, por realizarse con innovación y aventurarse a diversos riesgos.
El ficmonterrey tiene como objetivo general reunir en Nuevo León a un público presencial, y virtual en todo México, ante una selección de cine contemporáneo mexicano e internacional creado por realizadores con visiones diversas, frescas, arriesgadas, críticas, e innovadoras. Asimismo, nos interesa proporcionar un espacio de formación que promueva el encuentro entre los cineastas, las películas y la audiencia; y actividades que impulsen la producción cinematográfica, en especial de mujeres y regional.
Somos el festival de cortometrajes pionero en el género Freak y además nos gusta muchísmo el terror y el fantástico. Llevamos ya 26 años y tenemos un público fabuloso: 1.800 personas por noche a las que mostrar vuestros cortometrajes; además de importantes premios en metálico. Así que os pedimos que alimentéis a la bestia con vuestras obras; sin vosotros no somos nada.

Reel Affirmations: Washington DC's International LGBT Film Festival is proud to announce we are now a part of The DC Center Arts Program.
The DC Center is Washington DC's Community Center for the LGBT Community. We are simultaneously partnering with The Human Rights Campaign (HRC) in regard to presenting our monthly film series and The Tivoli Theater in Washington DC in presenting our Fall Film Festival.
Both the DC Center and HRC are amazing organizations with strong ties in the community locally and globally. This is a perfect fit for Reel Affirmations.
With this union, Reel Affirmations has re-launched its monthly film series, Reel Affirmations XTRA and will be bringing back Reel Affirmations: Washington DC's International LGBT Film Festival in late August 2015.
Reel Affirmations is Washington DC's International Film Festival. We are in our 23nd year and the festival takes place in August 2015.Since its first festival, Reel Affirmations has grown to include a companion Pride Film Festival, special screenings throughout the year with a variety of community partnerships, and a grant program to support LGBT filmmakers. The DC Center has an extensive arts program that help tell the stories of LGBT lives.that includes, OUTWRITE: LGBT Book Festival, The DC Queer Theatre Festival and Capturing FirePoetry Slam.
Since 2003 the international Festival SIGNES DE NUIT is active in Paris, Berlin, Saarbrücken and with special screenings world wide. The festival in Paris actually presents around 300 films coming from around 50 countries at different places in Paris. In Berlin the festival will be performed in the legendary cinema Babylon.
The International Festival SIGNES DE NUIT based in Paris is made up of films, which reflects new views, original imagery and critical approach to the crucial points of the modern human existence. It is a place for cinema that expands its own boundaries, that is astonishing, different, potentially free from the pressure of tradition, ready to give itself to the unpredictable experimentation.
The minor costs of digital production makes an independant- from comercial influences and any kind of censorship- production possible. These independant productions create an alternative, an artistic space very subtle and accessible to all, in contrast to what mass media offer.
This opposition and the preservation of the free cultural space is the goal of the International Festival Signes de Nuit, which has realized screenings and interventions in 29 different countries including Algeria, Australia, Chile, Cuba, Lebanon, Lithuania, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Peru, Russia, Tunisia, Turkey and the United States beside the screenings in main festival in Paris.

Filmambiente, el Festival Internacional de Cine Ambiental, muestra anualmente las mejores películas y videos recientes sobre derechos humanos y temas ambientales, para crear conciencia, provocar debates y ampliar el conocimiento y la conciencia sobre la necesidad de cambios urgentes en el comportamiento de las personas, los gobiernos y las empresas, a fin de preservar el planeta. Todas las proyecciones son gratuitas para llegar a un público amplio.
Filmambiente trabaja durante todo el año en asociación con otros festivales de cine ambientalistas, a través de la Red de Cine Verde, para dar a conocer mejor la realidad y asiste a diferentes festivales y eventos cinematográficos de todo el mundo, a fin de seleccionar las mejores películas y vídeos disponibles para presentarlos al público brasileño.
BuSho (Budapest Short) was established in the autumn of 2004 by a group of young Hungarian filmmakers and the first event successfully ran its course the following year. The festival became an international breakthrough in an exceptionally short period of time. We had plenty of festival screenings, selections of film academies, conferences, exhibitions, film-, and all-art workshops in the program. Our main target group is the generation of developing young filmmakers but we are very delighted at every entry. This film celebration takes place in Budapest in the late summer of 2019.
La Mostra FIRE!! es el primer festival de cine de temática LGBT creado en nuestro país, en 1995, por el Casal Lambda de Barcelona. Aborda la diversidad afectiva en su sentido más amplio a través de una cuidada selección de largometrajes, documentales y cortometrajes. Cine de calidad, películas de autor y enfoque educativo son sus principales señas de identidad.
Durante dos semanas a principios del mes de junio —principalmente en el Instituto Francés, y otros espacios de la ciudad tanto cerrados como al aire libre—, un amplio abanico de público está invitado a disfrutar de este referente cultural de Barcelona, con historias y testimonios de personas libres, creadores que rompen barreras y luchadores por los derechos humanos que ayudan con el amor a construir un mundo más justo y más libre.
El nombre del festival es un homenaje a la revista neoyorquina homónima de finales de los años veinte, FIRE!!, dirigida por el escritor negro y homosexual Richard Bruce Nugent, retratado en una de las películas mas emblemáticas del festival, Brother to Brother, que proyectamos hace unos años.
