“The Quarantine” is an international short film festival aimed at popularizing young and unknown authors among professional filmmakers’ circles. The festival is organized on completely voluntary basis, there are no screening fees and nobody receives any payment.
The festival takes place on the beach at “The Quarantine” fishing village which is the last standing fishing village in Varna, Bulgaria. The village is in danger of disappearing because a luxury residential complex is under construction on the coastline behind it. By provoking cultural exchange between contemporary artists from the whole world and locals, we intend to turn the fishing village into a culture and art zone and to preserve the fishermen’s way of life.
The name of the region “The Quarantine” comes from the past when sailors from commercial ships entering the harbour with suspicion of some kind of disease were taken ashore at the beach for the quarantine period of 40 days. In case they showed no signs of illness, they were allowed access to town. At present, the young authors who have still not found their realisation are in the state of a “Quarantine” – isolated by professional filmmakers’ circles. In analogy to the history of the location, we decided to name the festival “The Quarantine”.

We look for stories that allow us to generate new readings and discourses about older people, beyond the conventional representations that are usually associated with this stage of life.
La GRAN pantalla seeks to delve into topics such as the sexuality of older people, the digital divide, unwanted loneliness, palliative care, intergenerational dialogues, cohousing, LGBTIQ+ older people, dignified death, migrant older people and all the visions that this population group may have about contemporary social problems such as the climate crisis, demographic change, new forms of families and organization, international conflicts, urban planning, art and social change, etc.
The seventh edition of this contest will take place from 30 June to 4 July 2026 in the city of Barcelona with a showing in Mollet del Vallès and Sabadell (Catalonia).

The Moscow International Film Festival has been leading its history since 1935. Then the chairman of the jury was Sergey Eisenstein, and the film Chapaev opened the first festival. However, in subsequent years the festival was not held regularly.
Therefore, the Moscow International Film Festival has officially counted down since 1959, when it was renewed and turned into a regular event - it was carried out over odd years, alternating with the Karlovy Vary Film Festival. In 1999 MIFF became an annual event.

11th NEZ International Film Festival (NIFF)
26th to 29th March , 2026
NEZ stands for simplicity of life and existence. NEZ is not a corporate, nor an NGO; in fact no standard term can describe NEZ. It simply is a platform for beings in this planet to come forward, and come together and explore their collective talents for the progress of the world and beyond. We have long enough thought about espousing our cause and ours alone. Now we think together. It is a platform to promote excellence in Education, Arts, Literature, Films, Medicine, Science, Research, Community Service etc. The philosophy at NEZ is very simple. We share collective fate. We seek new thought patterns that shall shape this world and the universe in times to come.
NEZ International Film Festival (NIFF) stands for best of world cinemas in the categories of Feature Films, Short Films, Documentaries Films and Ad Films. A platform of NIFF is meant for bringing undiscovered pure talents before a larger audience of the world.
NIFF is an umbrella; it is a conglomeration of niche festivals under one category. We treat the entire event as a visual carnival. The purpose of the festival is to celebrate everything the visual medium of cinema has to offer. We are now stepping into 3rd year of our Journey and proudly announce two more categories from this year.
1. “The Smart Phone Cinema”
NIFF always Endeavour to create something new, something Path breaking. It strives to recognize and to reward challenging aspects of cinema in all its forms. To celebrate the impact of cinema in modern age, NIFF is proud to announce a complete new category from this year “The Smart Phone Cinema”. We would be accepting movies in The Student Category and The Professional Category. The movie has to be a minimum of 4 minutes and maximum of 15 minutes. Every entry has to be accompanied by shooting Stills, substantiating the movie was indeed shot using the smart phone.
2. NIFF GREENS
That which is Paramount is also fragile. What better example we can have of this fact other than the Planets Eco System or the Environment. Sadly the most Paramount things behind the survival of humans are also most abused by the same humans. We stand at a dangerous point. Our Abuse of the Planet’s Environment is leading us to sure extinction. We need to raise awareness of that.
Here at NIFF, we understand the Issue so much that we have created a separate category under the main festival Titled “NIFF GREENS”. It will showcase, any movie, shorts feature or documentary that highlights the issue of Environment.
Mostra Dr. Mabuse is an international short film festival taking place in Barcelona for three days. It is conceived as a festival open to new artists as well as experienced. A jury consisting of professionals in the audiovisual world, teachers and students of film festivals and other collaborators carry out the selection of films to be screened in the three sessions that are scheduled during the month of June in Barcelona. The project was initiated twenty years ago and has been growing and multiplying the number of films screened and registered, having received works of relevant directors such as JA Bayona, Nacho Vigalondo, Mateo Gil or Kike Maillo. Instead of just being an audiovisual festival, Dr. Mabuse is intended to be an homogeneous and free event, in which everyone can have a good time enjoying theater and cinema.
