The FENAVID International Film Festival is held annually in the city of Santa Cruz, Bolivia. Organized by the Audiovisual Foundation (FUNDAV), the Festival has become the most important film event in Bolivia and one of the most relevant in Latin America.
Since its first version, carried out in 2001, more than 10,000 audiovisual works from 30 countries have been presented at this meeting, which has transcended the borders of Bolivia and America.
In each version, FENAVID offers the public more than 150 screenings of feature films, short films, music videos and a series of audiovisual works that are exhibited free of charge for the public.
FENAVID always has first-rate guests. The event was attended by internationally renowned figures such as Celso Franco, protagonist of "7 boxes", Marisol Correa, Colombian actress, Alexandre Rodrigues and Leandro Firmino de Hora (protagonists of the acclaimed Brazilian film "Ciudad de Dios"), the Argentine producer Vanessa Ragone (winner of the Oscar for Best Foreign Film in 2010), Bolivian directors Marcos Loayza and Rodrigo Bellot and Argentine actress Aymará Rovera, to name a few.
Beyond glamor and film screenings, FENAVID is a macro meeting where producers, directors, actors, specialists and a whole multitude of people passionate about cinema converge.
During the days of its realization, the Festival has a series of parallel activities, such as children's film shows, video clip competition, workshops, talks, colloquia and debates.
One of the most anticipated events of FENAVID is the Santa Cruz 100X100 Film Production Meeting. It consists of bringing together 25 emerging film talents in Latin America. The chosen ones travel to Santa Cruz de la Sierra and, during the development of the festival, have the mission of producing a short film in 100 hours.

Consistent with past editions, alongside the Feature Film, Short Film, Documentary, and Animation categories, the festival includes parallel non-competitive sections: "Pioneers of Central American Cinema," "Works in Progress," "Guest Film," "Bonus Films," and "Latin American View." The latter features a curated selection of audiovisual works depicting contemporary life in Latin America. Detailed descriptions of these sections are provided in the participation guidelines.

Syncro is a national and international short film festival dedicated to elevating and showcasing the short film format. The festival offers a new approach to viewing short films by programming each film in an individual screening. We firmly believe that short films are not a lesser format or merely a learning stage in filmmaking. On the contrary, they represent cinema in its most potent and compact expression.

The International Festival of Children and Youth Film CALIBELULA, FICIJCALIBELULA - is created through a group of friends who love cinema, who see the need to generate new exhibition and training spaces, for a very special audience that is children and young people .
The purpose is to train audiences through cinematographic audiovisual material made by and for children, youth and adults that promotes conflict resolution and peaceful coexistence through the construction of values and principles.
Generate new exhibition alternatives that consolidate processes of formation and creation expressed in the production and audiovisual realization, with understanding and critical sensitivity, trying with this to involve from an early age this target population through the cinema as an artistic expression.
This Festival is a meeting place for the filmmakers, their works and the children's audience as well as a point of formation for young audiences, teachers and professionals of the area, making the Festival a promoter of reflection on the audiovisual media and the role they play with our children.
"The fantastic emerges from reality like the moon over a misty swamp".
The idea of the Festival comes from our passion for Pallars Sobirà, a faraway region in the Pyrenees, for its stories and legends, and for cinema. Our concern for preserving the most mysterious legacy of this territory has grown to finally become the Tabaca Film Fest.
It is indeed a land full of myths and legends, but every corner of the world has its own Yeti, its own mermaid, its own werewolf, its own mountain guardian, in short, its own mythological imaginary.
With the Tabaca Film Fest, we want to recover all these stories from the Pallars, the Pyrenees and elsewhere, through the art we know best, cinema.
We believe that this Festival can bring together several values in which we believe: quality cinema and preservation of the historical-mythological memory, in an incomparable natural setting.
The Tabaca Film Fest - the mythological film Festival of the Pyrenees - is a Festival in which fiction, animation and documentary genres participate in a short-film format, and which consists of an international competition section and complementary activities.
The first edition of the Tabaca Film Fest will be held in Vall de Cardós from the 27th to the 29th of September 2024 in person.
It will consist of an opening ceremony, screenings of the finalist films, and a closing gala with the award ceremony. In parallel, there will also be talks on local mythology, a guided tour of the most mysterious places in the Vall de Cardós, cultural activities and a concert.
The Municipalities of Calvera, Chiaromonte, Fardella, and Teana announce, for the year 2024, within the framework of the Miskigliamoci Festival, the 1st edition of "Food and Cinema - Miskiglio Festival." The works will be judged for their creativity, the ability to narrate the key theme, and for their technical and aesthetic qualities.
The winner will receive a cash prize worth €2,500.00 and the right to participate in the Marateale Short Film Contest.
Participation in the competition is free.
When Worlds Meet
Lapinha da Serra is a small district, full of charm, nestled in the Serra do Cipó region. Illustrated not only for its landscapes and waterfalls, but above all for the Lapinhô people, who welcome visitors in a unique way, making the small district of 600 inhabitants one of those unique places that mix tradition and receptivity to novelty.
It is by recognizing this quality of Lapinha that we invite the filmmakers to weave with us the curatorial line of the 2nd CineLapinhô Exhibition around the theme "When Worlds Meet".
Believing both in the power of cinema in connecting world views, and in our responsibility as agents of culture, we seek to bring to Lapinha and its residents, audiovisual experiences that present encounters between worlds: between cultures, times, realities and ideas; real and imaginary encounters, encounters that make new possible worlds emerge, even if ephemerally.
