BASES FOR PARTICIPATION IN THE CALL

Menorca Doc is a film and documentary photography festival that aims to show aspects of society that are not disseminated in cinemas, the media or the usual audiovisual distribution channels. The festival aims to raise public awareness through the documentary genre, understanding it as a tool to reflect on socio-political, environmental and human changes. In short, about our situation in the world.

Based on these interests, a series of annual calls are proposed in order to configure the official program for the V edition of the festival, which will be held between October 4 and November 1, 2024 in Menorca (Balearic Islands).

Equinoxio Film Festival will hold its 26th edition from September 20th to 27th. It provides a space for gathering and reflection concerning student filmmaking while allowing interaction with the aesthetic perspective of emerging talents, along with artistic, social and personal concerns of young filmmakers.

The theme of this year's exhibition revolves around imprints. The films we make and watch today are a testimony of life that unfolds in a timeless echo; through the lens we replicate past traces and ask ourselves about the marks we leave for upcoming cinema. We seek for emerging films that explore these historical, political and cultural grooves, question their impact on audiovisual creation, and prompt discussions about the power of art in the collective and social construction of our imprints.

Because we are inhabited, stirred and agitated by this river that feeds us, from the FICE, we are looking for those works that, like water, can poetically penetrate all the reality that we are able to cover.

ABOUT

XV ENCUENTRO PARA CINÉFAGOS
A Cinema and Arts Festival on the Border
San Cristóbal, Venezuela
August 7-9th 2025

The fifteenth edition of the Cinephagus Meeting, born in 2011 from the conjunction of the Andes University Cinema Club and BORDES, an independent organization dedicated to study and promote arts and humanities in Venezuela, will be held in San Cristóbal (Venezuela), from August 7 to 9, 2025, with an online screen available for audiences around the world.

Experimental films are more than welcome: our festival encourages innovation and transgressing of format, genres, political and aesthetic borders. We are especially receptive of video-art and dance films, as well as animation and documentaries, considering it necessary for artists to have adequate spaces for the exhibition and critique of their work, outside commercial circuits and other formal demands that may limit creative exploration of contemporary languages.

We are also interested in films exploring the subject of frontiers. Táchira is located in the border of Venezuela with Colombia, and this has traditionally been the most active geo political limit in Latin America, but in the last five years activity has been more than unusual, deserving many different views to be displayed. The story of this and other borders from around the world may be valuable contributions to our festival, which encourages reflective discussion as well as aesthetic enjoyment of all works presented.
