The 29th edition of the European Short Film Festival of Bordeaux will take place from March 26th to 27th 2026. The projection nights will take place at the UGC Ciné-Cité cinema in Bordeaux.
GOALS
The European Short Film Festival of Bordeaux aims to promote the short film format to the Région Aquitaine's audience. It facilitates the access to cinema for a large public, from all ages. It also supports the discovery of talented directors coming from all over Europe.,It’s a way for the filmmakers to be appreciated by a jury, no matter if they are mere enthusiasts or professionals.

FEST — New Directors | New Films Festival è una celebrazione onnicomprensiva delle nuove tendenze del cinema mondiale. L'evento si concentra su una vetrina competitiva e non competitiva delle nuove figure e opere più promettenti provenienti da tutto il mondo.
La 22a edizione del festival si svolgerà tra il 20 e il 28 giugno 2026, nella località balneare di Espinho (Portogallo).
La selezione è suddivisa in diverse categorie che includono concorsi di lungometraggi e cortometraggi nei formati di finzione, documentario, animazione, sperimentale non narrativo, oltre a contenuti adeguati per bambini e adolescenti. L'evento include anche sezioni non competitive che vanno dalle retrospettive alle rassegne di lungometraggi e cortometraggi.
COSA STIAMO CERCANDO?
Accettiamo film nei seguenti formati:
A) Lungometraggi di finzione e saggistica (la durata minima è di 55 minuti) di registi impegnati nel loro primo o secondo lungometraggio, indipendentemente dall'età.
B) Cortometraggi di finzione, documentari, animazione e sperimentali (fino a 54 minuti di durata) di registi che hanno completato non più di due lungometraggi, indipendentemente dall'età.
I candidati devono scegliere una delle categorie di inscrição disponibili. Non preoccuparti se il tuo film rientra in diverse categorie (ad esempio: produzioni ibride), poiché tutte le iscrizioni verranno prese in considerazione per le diverse competizioni. Se il tuo film è idoneo anche per il concorso NEXXT (incentrato sulle produzioni accademiche) ma desideri che il film venga preso in considerazione per tutti gli altri concorsi, indica nella sezione commenti dell'inscrição l'istituzione accademica in cui è stato prodotto il film. Nel corso degli anni il FEST ha selezionato per i suoi concorsi di lungometraggi film come «Past lives» di Celine Song; «Mighty Flash» di Ainhoa Rodríguez; «The Civilian» di Teodora Mihai; Anders Ølholm e Frederik Louis Hviid con «Enforcement»; Julie Lecoustre, «Zero Fucks Given» di Emmanuel Marre; P.S. Vinotho «Pebbles», «Poppy field» di Eugen Jebeleanu e «Lamb» di Valdimar Jóhannsson, tutto questo nella finzione, poi nella parte documentaria, «A way Home» di Karima Saidi, «Gli ultimi cavalieri del lato destro» di Michał Edelman, «Dear Future Children» di Franz Böhm tra molti altri.
Le sezioni Short Film del FEST sono note per la loro ampia varietà di stili e visioni cinematografiche, essendo state nel corso degli anni una piattaforma per il lancio di nuovi artisti come Govinda Van Maele (Lussemburgo), Christos Massalas (Grecia), Mati Diop (Francia), Lukas Dhont (Belgio), Adriano Valerio (Italia), Patrick Vollrath (Germania), Ninja Thyberg (Svezia), Manuel Abramovich (Argentina), Daria Belova (Russia), Simon Mésa Soto (Colombia), Aga Woszczynska (Polonia), Jela Hasler (Svizzera), oltre a centinaia di altri registi emergenti.

Il Consorzio Polla in Corto organizza la quattordicesima edizione del Festival del Cortometraggio denominato " CORTI A SUD ", che si svolgerà a Polla (SA) dal 20 al 21 giugno 2026 presso l’Auditorium “Santo Nicolicchio”.
Il 14° anno includerà nuove aggiunte e competizioni! L'International Horror Hotel Film Festival and Convention si tiene ogni giugno nel nord-est dell'Ohio. Abbiamo concorsi aperti per film e sceneggiature dei seguenti generi: sperimentale (solo film), fantasy, horror, commedia horror, slasher, fantascienza e thriller di suspense. WHY THIS FESTIVAL ?
This festival is to be focused on this type of films. You will have specific recognition for the documentary you made, in a festival dedicated to documentaries.
Why is this so important ? Because sometimes, documentaries are just another category in some film festivals. We think documentaries deserve more attention, and we want to contribute giving it to them.
WHAT WILL BE OUR SELECTION ?
We will only select and screen short documentaries, not over 15 or 20 minutes maximum. If you made a full feature documentary, we will not be able to select it yet, but maybe in the years to come.
We are seeking for original documentaries, that can explore the world for us, bring some issues and analysis to the table, whether you shot it with a DSLR or a top 4K+ camera.
We accept all themes and langage. If not english speaking we require english subtitles.
SCREENING
A selection of the winners will screen on 2018, May 4th, in Los Angeles. The award give away will take place at the same time, on the evening.

KloosterKino is the place to be for animated shorts in Nijmegen, the Netherlands. Three times a year we show the best animated shorts from all over the world in a friendly setting. The screenings take place in a historic cloister, which dates back to 1909, and are not subject to admission.
KloosterKino shows work by young filmmakers, but also pays attention to classic animated film. Throughout the year we also work with other festivals and cultural organizations to arrange screenings of animated shorts.
But why animated shorts? Well, first of all, because we love them! But also because too few animated shorts are shown theatrically in the Netherlands. KloosterKino wants to show animation in all its diversity: from stop-motion to CGI, from narrative to abstract, homegrown and from far away. In doing so, we hope to aid in the diffusion of the artistic animated short.
We intend to be an alternative to the larger animation festivals by offering screenings which are both accessible and challenging. We stand for high quality animated film in welcoming surroundings.
