Founded in 2003, IN THE PALACE International Short Film Festival is dedicated to short films, new media and digital arts. Originating as a competitive forum for student films, it has grown to be a recognized platform for the expression of both young artists and established professionals – the only one of its kind in Bulgaria serving this particular sector of contemporary culture, and one of the oldest short film forums on the Balkans.
IN THE PALACE is a Goya Awards qualifying festival, Student Academy Awards® qualifying festival, and an Academy Awards®/OSCAR® qualifying festival for shorts in the categories of Best Animation, Best Fiction, Best Documentary, and Best National Film. IN THE PALACE is a member of the international network of festivals and institutions serving the short film sector – the Short Film Conference.
22nd IN THE PALACE will take place in the Palace of Culture Pernik (Pernik, Bulgaria) from June 28th until July 5th 2025.

IN THE PALACE takes place over a week and offers a range of events, activities, and programs for both - local and international film industry and audience. IN THE PALACE is a cultural meeting point of film industry, artists, students, educational institutions, and the general public, that provides access to the latest trends, developments, and learning in the arts and culture through screenings, training and interdisciplinary exchange. Since 2018 the Festival organizes the International Interdisciplinary Science Conference.
ISFFI is being organised by a charitable non profit organisation- Vikas India Trust, whose mission is to cultivate and promote the art and science of film through education and audience participation.
ISFFI Director being himself a filmmaker and also Director of India's oldest film Association (IMPPA) Indian Motion Picture Producers Association since 2010 has taken the initiative along with the group of passionate filmmakers.
It is a very sincere and humble attempt to add our expertise of film making and distribution to provide another unique platform for younger generation filmmakers.
ISFFI is being celebrated in Mumbai the film capital of India Bollywood, also the financial capital of India, the home of topmost Industrialists, of top Film actors, producers, Investors and distributers. The filmmakers will have a great chance to interact with these film fraternity during festival event.
Da Bounce Urban Film Festival is the Netherlands first urban film festival. With its variety in new releases, classics, narrative, features, shorts and documentaries, the events celebrates the cinematic diversity. DBUFF also organizes Q&A's, panel discussions, workshops and talent development.
This submission segment is specifically for novices filmmakers with medium or low budgets, film made by and/or about people of African descent (Urban), filmmaker needn’t be of African descent. However the lead actor/actress must be of African descent or a predominantly black cast. DBUFF offers a fantastic opportunity for undiscovered filmmakers from all over the globe to showcase their Short Urban Film/Documentary at “DBUFF Talent Award”. However only Dutch participants are eligible for an award & prizes.
DBUFF offers a platform to initiatives that stimulate the landscape of urban film. We build bridges, stimulate growth and offer insights into the great potential within the urban film segment. Aside from our annual festival, our film related activities include distribution, marketing, PR and events. Last year 5.000+ people from both the industry and the public attended DBUFF. The 5th Annual Da Bounce Urban Film Festival will take place in Theater Pathé Arena in Amsterdam, November 1-4, 2018.

With national and international virtual sub-venues for the exhibition of competitions. Since 2018, CINELEBU is the only festival in Chile that qualifies short films for the Oscar® Awards in three categories: International Animation, Regional Fiction, and International Fiction. and since 2023, qualifier for the Goya Awards and Marca Chile.

SANFICI is a space to generate meetings at different levels, with an overcoming and innovative will. The Cultural Association CinemìCinemà, based in Arezzo (Tuscany, Italy), has been running an International Short Film Festival for Italian and international film-makers since 2009. The festival was originally created to encourage the use of the English language and videos for educational purposes for Italian high schools and it has evolved throughout the years opening its audience to international video-makers without loosing its main aim: promoting cinema amongst the youngest generations, and not only, with a particular attention to inter-cultural dialogue. The kermesse honors Mario Maldesi, a great Italian dubbing director; it partners with international and Italian short film festivals like Edinburgh Short Film Festival.

Dates
The 12th edition of Cinemìcinemà International Short Film Festival will take place online on www.cinemicinema.it the 1st and 2nd October 2021; finalist films will be displayed on our website and our audience will have access to them through a private link to our Youtube channel for a month; the Festival Closing Ceremony will be held on Saturday 2 October 2021.
Festival Categories
There is no theme for 12th edition. The two categories are:
-Short Films
-Animation Short Films
Each category is divided into two sections according to the author’s age:
-UNDER 30 (years old)
-OVER 30 (years old).
One or more short films can be submitted, produced after 1st January 2018 and no longer than 15 minutes including credits (VLC. MPG4. DVD).
Submission Guidelines
Short films can be submitted between 15th March 2021 and 7th June 2021.
They can be submitted through Festhome platform.
Season deadlines and fees to be paid for each submitted piece of work:
-Early Bird [15/03 - 04/04] $ 5.00
-First Deadline [05/04 - 25/04] $ 7.50
-Second Deadline [26/04 - 16/05] $10.00
-Extended Deadline [17/05 - 07/06] $ 20.00
All deadlines as well as late fees/surcharges, are strictly enforced, with no deviation, negotiation or exception and apply for ALL Participants.
For the citizens of those internationally sanctioned or embargoed countries who are interested to submit their video materials, CinemìCinemà Cultural Association reserves the right to provide for exceptions. They should contact the Festival staff for details.
All non English films must be subtitled in English.
Documentaries, videoclips, video art films and video Ads are not admitted.
The ones submitted after 7th June 2021 will for no reason be accepted.
The festival committee can anticipate the submission deadline in case of unforeseeable circumstances.
MADTerrorFest was created with the purpose of covering the vacuum that exists in Madrid regarding the genres of fantasy films and terror concerns.
There is lot of talent already discovered and above all to be discovered. So we have proposed to dig up all that potential and make it available for the lovers of this type of film, which we tell us of course.
We want to do a festival of short films that gradually give rise to the International Film Festival of horror and fantastic of Madrid, and become a reference within the national and international scene.

The PEEPHOLE filmfest VOL.3 will be held in Guadalajara, Jalisco, México. October 29 to November.
We will exhibit selected films at LARVA theater, with 250 seats, and will have fun activities like horror comic/art exhibitions, horror gaming presentations and the "Day of the death" parade passing right in front of the venue.
Skepto International Film Festival is a competitive festival dedicated to short films, without restrictions on subject matter, style, or production budget. The main goal of the festival is to give visibility to independent filmmakers from all over the world and to build an open space where they can freely exchange ideas. Video productions of any genre or style are allowed. Audiovisuals created through the use of artificial intelligence in all its forms are also included.
The thirteenth edition of the festival will take place in Cagliari from October 2023 to June 2024: the main competition will be held in October 2023 in Cagliari, and there will also be two side events at locations to be identified in Italy and/or Europe and to be held at later dates, in any case by June 2024. The final date and location of the Festival and the two side events will be announced on the official website of the event www.skepto.net

Films are screened in Italian or in original language with Italian or English subtitles in front of an audience from 3 to 99 year old.
The Dublin Smartphone Film Festival

The Dublin Smartphone Film Festival (DUBSMARTFF) is an international festival dedicated to celebrating work shot on Smartphones.
No longer is expensive technology a barrier to creativity. The mobile phone has expanded the scope and freedom for filmmakers. Now aspiring artists have the ability to write, shoot and edit, their films at the touch of a button. Smartphones are reshaping the way we approach filmmaking creating limitless possibilities in the palm of your hand.
The festival was created with the goal of encouraging these filmmakers to share the stories they have captured on mobile devices. We also aim to provide a platform to exhibit these stories to a wider audience. It is also a chance to reward storytellers, who are using these devices to push the boundaries of narrative and style.

Days of German and Russian short films “Vkratze!” have been held in Volgograd since 2013 in the perspective of cultural exchange, dialogue and cooperation between art communities of the two countries, popularization of present-day audio-visual culture in Volgogard Region. International competition within the festival is a review of independent short films from Russia and Germany as well as films from all over the world. The Social Film Festival organized by Luminiscence Studio since 2013 has no competitive character, our intention is to screen projects with a clear social commitment, bringing the works presented to the public closer so that a link can be created between filmmakers, the public and organizers.
The International “Festival International du Film Panafricain” (FIFP) in Cannes is a platform that exhibits cinema and its professions, arts and entrepreneurship, as well as innovation, culture and events.
The FIFP was created and founded by Mr. Eitel Basile NGANGUE EBELLE and the “Association Nord Sud Développement, agréée jeunesse et Education Populaire Ministère de la santé, de la jeunesse et des sports n° 06514”.
As a driving force behind the PanAfrican Cinema and Arts industry, the Festival is constantly seeking specific solutions for the development of PanAfrican Cinema and Arts.
With a booming Pan-African market (from Africa to the Americas through the Caribbean, Europe and Asia), the Festival benefits from expertise in the development of cinema and Fashion as well as the development of cultural affairs.
Since its creation in 2006, the DIKALO AWARDS (meaning « message » in the Cameroonian language Douala) has been awarded by a professional jury for the best short and feature films (fiction), the best long and short documentaries, the Dikalos Peace Award, as well as the best actor and actress awards.

Cine Pobre is a self-funded filmmaking genre without a set of stylistic criteria nor format boundaries, involving many geographically separated creators with at least two things in common: a strong desire to tell their story and to do so with their own resources.
Cine Pobre builds bridges based on the belief that film becomes art when its materials are as inexpensive as pencil and paper. Since 2002 the 100% cartel-free intersection of culture and capabilities curating the world's best self-funded films.
The AVIFF Festival presents a program of films by Artists in Cannes during the period of the Cannes Film Festival 4 days in May.
The concept: show another "cinema" and present audiovisual works to an audience of festival-goers and professionals.
The works selected must have been produced by Artists for less than 2 years and have never been presented in France before.
The program presented in Cannes will then be programmed during the year in partner places of education and culture: Festivals, museums, Center of Contemporary Arts, Foundations, Universities, schools... and this in the world, in Europe and in France.
With the support of the Ministry of Culture, the Provence Alpes Côte d'Azur Region, the Angel Orensanz Foundation in New York and private and public partners, the AVIFF Festival has been working for 13 years to promote the Artist's film and its dissemination, in favor of worldwide artistic freedom and the expression of one's creativity.
