MACAU INTERNATIONAL SHORT FILM FESTIVAL (“FESTIVAL”) is an annual worldwide audio-visual festival that aims to motivate overseas and Macau short film and music videos productions to compete in this FESTIVAL.
The Festival compromises two separate competitions:
- SHORTS International Short Film Competition
- VOLUME International Music Video Competition
“SHORTS” awards the best shorts-films in the three categories of Fiction, Documentary, and Animation. And “VOLUME” awards the best winning music video incorporating Macau original music. A list of Macau original songs is available on the Festival's WEBSITE for download purposely for VOLUME.
SHORTS is open for submission from 16 March to 16 June 2024, and VOLUME is open for submission from 16 March to 20 July 2024.
The Festival was previously known as "Sound & Image Challenge" and was first launched in 2010 focusing only on an audiovisual competition for local talent. This initiative was co-founded with professionals in film, music, sound and image fields, with two priorities: to promote the Creative Industries in the audiovisual sector and highlight the local talents in the production of sound and moving image design. Over the years, it expanded across 5 continents, grew and gained recognition, and finally became a short film festival in 2015.
The Festival will be held from 3 to 10 December 2024. A series of cultural programs will be scheduled in venues throughout Macau during the Festival week, such as public screenings of “SHORTS” official selection and “VOLUME” music videos official selection, Masterclasses of film production, development, International Film Festival curatorship and organising; audience voting for “Audience Choice”; as well as gala awards ceremony.
The Barichara Green Film Festival FESTIVER, created by Colombian actors Toto Vega and Nórida Rodríguez, seeks to build a new generation of artists and audience commited to the environment. Through its screenings and a continuous search for resources to create environmental film content, FESTIVER aims to educate and entertain by developing academic, artistic and recreational activities which enrich the Colombian cultural landscape and help build a better world. The 14th edition will take place on September 19-22, 2024 in Barichara, Santander, Colombia.

The Vieques International Film Festival 2017 is designed to provide exposure to filmmakers of Puerto Rican, Hispanic, and Latino heritage. As a privately held public event created by the Brittany Dance, Film & Theatre Foundation (a Federal 501(c)3 non-profit bringing Arts education in dance, film, and theatre to the people of Vieques), all proceeds aside from the costs of running the Festival will go directly towards the operation of the Brittany and to continuing to bring more and more classes in the Arts to the local population. Now in its 4th year, the Leamington Underground Cinema Festival will be running at venues across the town of, yes, Leamington Spa from 11th to the 19th of November 2016. The festival is made up of a programme of cool, non-mainstream features and shorts – which is why we need your entries.
This year we have prizes for the best short film under 15 minutes, the best sub 1-minute films and a FREE to enter prize for short animation. Also for the first time we are inviting feature submissions to be screened as part of the festival programme.
Leamington Underground Cinema is a shady subterranean operation that was conceived in 2011 as a way of bringing the cool, the unusual and the seldom seen of the cinematic world to the attention of the previously culture-starved masses of the local area.
Operating at various venues across the previously unsuspecting town of Leamington Spa – LUC has presented a whole load of unique one-off cinematic events as well as running three instalments of the Leamington Underground Cinema Festival in September 2013, October 2014 and November 2015.
Our aims are to
- screen brilliant, but less well known or non-mainstream movies
- bring great short films to a wider audience
- show classic cult movies in unusual locations
