The Central American Film Festival in Vienna has become a firmly rooted tradition, establishing itself as a key cultural event in the city.
Vienna, recognized as one of the world's most important cultural hubs, provides an ideal and prestigious platform to showcase the increasingly innovative and notable productions emerging from the Central American region.
This year, the festival returns from November 15 to 21, 2026, with the hope of once again welcoming our loyal audience, who will have the opportunity to enjoy the latest and most outstanding works of Central American cinema.
The program includes the categories of Feature Film, Short Film, Documentary, and Animation, along with several non-competitive parallel sections, including: "Pioneers of Central American Cinema," "Works in Progress," "Guest Film," "Bonus Films," and "Latin American Perspective," the latter dedicated to works portraying contemporary life in Latin America. Entries requirements:
-> All films must have been made in or after 2012 and have English subtitles (unless English is the main language spoken); A creation date does not apply in case of the screen writings from being stopped for submissions, but the submitted must be in English or have a copy translated in English;
-> We accept shorts, documentaries, animations, experimental, music videos, web and new media, commercials (all specified previously under 45 minutes); feature films and feature documentaries (any length, 45 + minutes);
->A description between 50 and 150 words;
->Trailer (not required for movies under 7 minutes; optional) and the film must be submitted as an on-line screener (Vimeo preferred) which may be embedded on the website for visitors to see your creation; you can further opt for modifications in your entry;
->Cover of the film/screen writing or a defining photo;

The Independent Film Festival - Indie Film Festival (#IFF) is an international online event that gathers film submissions for screening and awards. We aim to feature short films, feature films, shows, documentaries and web series that are not always feature in mainstream festivals. We will grant a audience awards and official festival awards.
The IFDb community will get to watch, share, discuss and vote for their favorite videos. Das Censurados Film Festival ist ein internationales Filmfestival, das „die Filme zeigt und bewirbt, von denen sie nicht wollen, dass du sie siehst“. Das in Peru gegründete Festival verfügt über mehr als zwölf Jahre Erfahrung und hat sich als wichtige Plattform für die Verteidigung der Meinungsfreiheit, der Menschenrechte und der kulturellen Vielfalt durch das Kino etabliert.
In einem globalen Kontext, in dem Künstler, Filmemacher und Zuschauer weiterhin von Zensur betroffen sind, schafft das Festival einen Raum für Begegnung, Reflexion und Dialog über die vielen Formen der Zensur, die zeitgenössische künstlerische Praktiken prägen.
Die 12. Ausgabe des Festivals findet vom 9. bis 12. ZENSURWETTBEWERB
Dieser Abschnitt ist Filmen gewidmet, die zensiert oder verboten wurden oder auf Hindernisse, Druck, Bedrohungen oder jegliche Form von Gewalt gestoßen sind, die ihre Entwicklung oder Verbreitung beeinträchtigt haben.
Filme aller Genres — Fiktion, Dokumentarfilm, Animation oder Experiment — von überall auf der Welt können teilnehmen, sofern sie in jeder Phase des Filmemachens, von der Recherche und Konzeptentwicklung über das Schreiben, die Produktion, den Dreh und die Postproduktion bis hin zu ihrer Ausstellung, ihrem Vertrieb oder ihrer öffentlichen Verbreitung, Zensur oder Einmischung ausgesetzt waren.
Die Bewerber müssen nachprüfbare Informationen vorlegen, die die Situation der Zensur, des Drucks, der Bedrohung oder des Konflikts belegen, die sich auf die Arbeit ausgewirkt haben.
